Road Improvements (updated 7/31/25)

The '25-'26 Board agreed to hire Bryant fromJones Hydroseeding to provide ongoing road work in our community.  After Hurricane Helene, Jones Hydroseeding did an assessment of our community roads and began work repairing most needed sections starting with Lakeside Drive (road washed out at canoe launch area and waterfall area.) A detailed plan from Bryant has being submitted & approved for  road maintenance for remainder of year. Please email road concerns to ashelakepoa@gmail.com for review if you experience an emergency road issue.

Thank you neighbors for keeping your dues current. Your support is funding community improvements such as these.

We will be continuing throughout the remainder of the year to make road improvements.

community improvements in progress

We are in progress of working with private property owners who own the  lots surrounding the waterfall area  and graciously allow our residents access to enjoy the waterfalls to restore its beauty after Hurricane  Helene devastation.  An estimate of  $15,000 was provided to cover the damage which includes: removal of 15 downed trees and their root base; and excavation of dirt out of creek bed to allow greater creek flow.  We would welcome donations to help offset the cost of the restoration project which is currently on hold at the present time. We are exploring government assistance as well. If you would like to make a donation toward restoring the waterfall area, please email us at ashelakepoa@gmail.com

The ALPO Board has surveyed the state of all platted roads within Ashe Lake, and have formulated a plan that considers road status as well as traffic volume.  We have contracted with Wolverine Excavation to focus on areas of significant problems; work is scheduled to be ongoing thru October.  Thru-traffic will be maintained, however delays may be unavoidable and will be minimized

The 1st phase (now completed) included

2nd phase (now completed) included portions of
Chestnut Dr.
Monticello Dr.
Freedom Trail.
Lakeside, above dam, both sides

3rd phase (now completed) included portions of:

Holiday Ln.

Lakeside at Ashe Dr.

Lakeside culverts to be flushed.

Pritchard Dr at Ravenwood Dr.

Dawnview Dr at Beaver Creek Dr.

Dawnview Dr

Gate spread of 12 loads rock to fill holes from waterfall to dam.

(Scheduled for June 2024 - now completed)

We realize that the roads are a priority for all homeowners.  Road maintenance and up-keep is an ongoing issue with our old roads that are not paved, and scheduling of work is at the mercy of our unpredictable mountain weather. We believe that the current capital improvement plan will minimize requirements for ongoing road maintenance and will benefit all of Ashe Lake in the long run.  Thank you for your patience with our progress.

Please contact ALPO at ashelakepoa@gmail.com with your concerns, and to advise of any emergency road issues.

Beaver Dams & Activity

We have contracted with a beaver trapper and he is working on removing the beavers from the areas where they are causing the most damage.  If you see beaver activity or damage please let us know so we can pass it on.
